Director – Operations & Technology

The Director of Operations and Technology is responsible for the strategic leadership of operational systems, processes, people and technology that ensure the successful fulfillment of all evidence management solutions produced by Commonwealth Legal; including but not limited to scanning, coding, eDiscovery, data integration, and web-hosting. Responsibilities include the development and accomplishment of an operational strategic plan and budget; the establishment of strategic vendor relationships and the leadership of a high performance operational team to drive quality results, profitability, competitive advantage and client satisfaction.

We seek a dynamic, high-energy, experienced and resourceful executive to join our senior management team as Director, Operations & Technology. This Toronto-based position will lead overall Operations, and IT to deliver scalable and highly secure technology offerings. Our new Director will be responsible to develop and lead a high performing operational team and to work successfully within a challenging, entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.

The Director, Operations & Technology, will be a results-oriented professional with the ability to get things done in a timely and cost effective manner. The following competencies are required:

Preferred Education and Career Experience

• University degree and 5 – 8 years experience in Senior Operations Management or Senior EDiscovery / Technology Management

• Graduate degree and 3 – 5 years experience in Senior Operations Management or Senior eDiscovery / Technology Management

Must demonstrate:

• General knowledge of networking, operating systems, and server architectures
• General knowledge of technology related to VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other aspects of network security technologies
• SQL and/or Oracle databases (SQL Certified preferred)
• ERP / CRM working knowledge
• Experience with Imaging, Processing and Capture Systems
• Experience with Web Portal / MS SharePoint technology
• Experience and expertise related to database administration, ASP / SaaS technologies and Internet Technologies:
  1. Summation, Concordance
  2. Ringtail Case Portal, iCONECT
  3. SQL, Oracle
• Microsoft Office;
  1. MS Access
  2. MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio;
  3. PowerPoint, MS Projects considered an asset
