Justice Gerald R. P. Moir practiced law at Halifax and Truro from 1977 until 1997 and developed a concentration in litigation related to insolvency law and commercial law. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1993 and a judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia in 1997. Justice Moir is a member of the Steering Committee that, under Justice John M. Davison, has been guiding Nova Scotia towards new Rules since January 2004. He and Mr. James Gregg, a Senior Solicitor with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, are drafting the new Rules under instructions of sub-committees and the Steering Committee of the Nova Scotia Rules Project.

David Outerbridge is Counsel in the litigation department at Torys LLP. He advises and represents clients in a broad range of litigation matters, with his practice primarily focused in the areas of construction litigation, product liability claims, environmental litigation, commercial disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, class actions and civil sexual assault litigation. David's practice has a significant advisory and consulting component. David is the Chair of the Ontario E-discovery Implementation Committee, a joint committee of the Ontario Bar Association and The Advocates' Society whose mandate is to implement best practices relating to electronic discovery in Ontario. David is also Chair of Torys' E-discovery Committee. David speaks and writes frequently on a variety of topics including class actions, electronic evidence, electronic discovery, solicitor-client and litigation privilege, and best practices for document retention.

Richard Wessel's history with Commonwealth Legal spans over five years. His relationship with the company started initially in a client capacity working on a large scale ediscovery project. Over the past 2 years, Richard has been actively consulting with clients and project management to supporting Commonwealth Legal's eDiscovery initiatives while taking a leadership role on the company's key Information Technology initiatives. Richard has also been involved in managing and executing the eDiscovery components for a number of large legal projects utilizing the same IT related tools that clients are using today. As a member of the technology team, Richard brings with him over 15 years of Information Technology (IT) experience in the following areas: Network Administration; Email Management; Document Management/Records Retention; Project Management; and Application Development in a number of business sectors.

Cheryl Curran has almost ten years of experience in litigation support in both a law firm and vendor environment. She is Certified on a number of industry applications and maintains a well-deserved reputation for excellence in her field. Cheryl brings a strict adherence to quality and best practices in both her training and consulting.

George Socha, JD, a litigator for 16 years, is President of Socha Consulting LLC, offering services as an electronic discovery expert witness, special master and advisor to corporations, law firms and their clients, and legal vertical market software and service providers in the areas of electronic discovery and automated litigation support. For five years, George has been co-author of the leading survey on the electronic discovery market, The Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey. 

Tom Howe, Esq., Co-founder and President of Legal Technology Group, is a well-known industry expert, consultant and lawyer who has recently co-authored "Electronic Discovery Technologies: Practical Tips and Tools for Electronically Stored Evidence" the definitive book on e-discovery technology. Tom was recently a lead presenter at the E-Discovery Advisor Summit in California.

Clifford F. Shnier, JD, Esq., An integral player in litigation support and e-discovery since entering the industry in the late 1980’s, Cliff has been a consultant, owner of his own service bureau, and a senior executive with major e-discovery and litigation support service providers.

Sandra Potter, Director of Potter Farrelly and Associates, Australia, is an internationally recognized expert in the law and technology field, with a remarkable depth of specialist knowledge in the areas of document management, litigation support and the adoption of technology to control both paper-based and electronic material. Sandra worked with the Canadian Judicial Council in the development of the National Protocol.

Alice Burns, a Consultant with Baker Robbins & Company, is an internationally recognized expert on litigation management with over fifteen years experience. Alice has provided technology-based management solutions to law firms, corporate legal departments, governmental entities and legal software and service providers on litigation support matters.

Dominic Jaar, Commercial litigation counsel at Beaudin Legault, Bell Canada’s legal department; specializes in technology related matters; member of The Sedona Conference and has worked extensively on the drafting of the Canadian principles and guidelines on E-discovery.

Martin Felsky, PhD, JD, is the CEO of Commonwealth Legal and a recognized senior consultant who advises law firms, corporations and government clients in Canada, the United States and overseas on the effective use of automated litigation support and strategic electronic discovery.
