Nova Scotia Supreme Court Posts New Civil Procedure Rules: The judges of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia have tentatively approved new Civil Procedure Rules.

JTAC National Model Practice Direction and National Protocol for the Exchange of Evidence in Electronic Form (English and French versions) as approved by the Canadian Judicial Council.

The Sedona Principles: (Canadian Edition) February 2007 (Public Comment Draft - Sedona Canada) Principles and Best Practices recommendations for lawyers, courts, businesses and others who regularly confront e-discovery issues in Canada.

Association of Litigation Support Professionals (ALSP): Dedicated to establishing global professional standards for the litigation support profession through collaboration, education and certification.

Osbourne 2007 Civil Justice Reform Project Recommendations: A summary of the Findings and Recommendations arising from Coulter Osbourne's review of the civil justice system (undertaken in June of 2006).

Alberta Practice Note 14: (in force 2007-09-04) The Court of Queen's Bench has developed Practice Note 14 to provide guidance to the legal profession and the public regarding the preparation, management and presentation of electronic evidence.

BC Practice Direction released on July 1st 2006: The BC Supreme Court issued the BC E-Evidence Practice Direction concerning the preparation, exchange and presentation of evidence. This Practice Direction provides guidance to parties and counsel in the use of technology for the preparation and management of civil litigation in the Courts. It also provides a court-approved framework and protocols for managing both hard copy and electronic documents in a technology environment.

Guidelines for the Discovery of Electronic Documents in Ontario: In October 2005, the Task Force on the Discovery Process in Ontario issued two supplemental reports. One of these reports, which is available by clicking here, was drafted by a subcommittee of experts appointed by task force chair the Honourable Mr. Justice Colin Campbell. Our CEO, Martin Felsky, was an active member of that subcommittee.
