ELECTRONIC APPEAL BOOKS
Commonwealth Legal has pioneered the development and adoption of Electronic Appeal Books. Since 2001, Commonwealth Legal has prepared fully searchable electronic appeal briefs for the courts in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta, as well as for the Supreme Court of Canada.
Allowing for the easy navigation and management of a virtually unlimited number of litigation documents from a CD ROM, an Electronic Appeal Book is an indexed collection of appeal document images. Highly intuitive and easy to navigate with the help of
Adobe Acrobat PDF software, e-appeal books create an efficiency of access, preparation and presentation that just can't be attained the old fashioned way.
Similar to the process of creating an electronic closing book, Commonwealth Legal's process for the creation of your e-appeal book involves the scanning of paper documents, conversion to PDF, bookmarking, hyperlinking and highlighting of all materials and finally production and optimization of a CD ROM. Your document set can be ordered and numbered in a manner that makes sense to you and we can incorporate any number of documents, images or other media types necessary for your appeal.
E-appeal books are gaining in prominence and in many cases are preferred by the courts. Contact Commonwealth Legal today to find out how we can assist you in the creation of your next E-appeal book.
The Spring-Summer Issue of Computer News for Judges (published by the Canadian Judicial Council) features a Commonwealth Legal Electronic Appeal Book.
