Karen-Farewell

After almost 20 years in the legal technology industry, it is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Karen Brookman, VP of Services at Ricoh Canada and former Co-founder and President of Commonwealth Legal Inc.

In 2014, Commonwealth Legal was acquired by Ricoh Canada. After the acquisition, Karen took on a number of strategic initiatives in Ricoh, and was eventually appointed the VP of Services where she brought a unique entrepreneurial perspective and made substantial contributions to the advancement of Ricoh’s National Services strategy and growth of the business.

The measure of success is more valid when it originates from within you, rather than when it is determined by external factors beyond your control.
- Karen Brookman

Today, a significant amount of work has been done to grow Ricoh’s Services business, including advancing the company’s eDiscovery and Information Governance offerings. The newly formed Legal Services organization is launching a series of innovative, new technologies and offerings as part of Ricoh’s broader digital transformation portfolio.

Karen’s passion, dedication, and contributions both within Ricoh and for organizations such as Women of Influence, have had a profound effect on many of us as individuals, and on our industry as a whole.

As Karen embarks on a new chapter in her life, please join us in extending our best wishes to her and her family.
